Maxpedition 12X5 Bottle Holder Mess Kit / Kitchen by Brumbie

This is my Maxpedition 12x5 and Cocoon attached to the side.  I got these from Two Wolves Outdoor

Here are all the items it contains. I'll break down these items further in a bit.

1. Victorinox German military issue knife.
2. Orange waterproof match case, with matches of course.
3. Titanium Spork
4. Pack of Trident layers gum.
5. Black pouch with fire kit.
6. Two round metal tins, food stuffs.
7. stove/mess kit
8. Two large spice jars, 1. salt 1. pepper mix

Maxpedition 12 x 5 with Cocoon

The fire kit contains a wide variety of fire starting items.

Vaselined cotton balls

 char cloth

 steel wool

 mini candles

 ferro rods with striker

straw stuffed sealed with vaselined cotton

 flint and steel

 mini lighter

 jute

 cordage for firebow

Lots of chances and methods to get a fire going with that.

The two round tins...

One has a selection of buillion cubes, chicken and beef.

The other has tea packets and 2 sugar packets for each tea packet.

I've a tiny bit of room left in the tea case, the buillion case has a bit more room if I decide to add something.

I wrapped each with two rubber bands both to help keep the tins shut and to stop any metallic rattle while travelling.

The stove/mess set up is my version of those surplus German or Swiss issued kits. The cup is a stainless GSI cup. Stainless Guyot bottle-with a sock around it. The sock helps to insulate the bottle and also prevents any metallic clanging while nested. Finally a metal coffee can that I modified to use as a stove. I drilled holes in it and painted it with BBQ grill high temp paint
