For the ultimate survival set up,
we paired the Kershaw fire starter with the Victorinox Trekker!
This easy to carry set up goes with you everywhere for the ultimate
emergency preparedness.
There you have it: Large Locking Blade,
Phillips Screwdriver, Bottle Opener, Large Locking Screwdriver, Can
Opener, Small Screwdriver, Wire Stripper, Reamer, Key Ring, Tweezers,
Toothpick, Saw and Fire starter on the same lanyard! Use the saw
blade to get sawdust and tinder and then turn it over and use the back
to strike the magnesium shaft of the Kershaw and you have a fire going!
We did this. It was fast, fun and effective!
Where did we get this idea?
The Master Himself: WoodsMaster Ron Hood.
TwoWolvesTested: If you
have never tried it, the can openers on the Swiss Army Knives do work
and are not hard to use. Once again, we had our 10year old try it
out after showing her only once. She successfully mastered the can
opener and the can of spagettios in short order. Secondly, the saw
blade really does work well too. We all had a great time trying
this one out. As shown in the picture, I also did a quick whittle
with the large locking blade just for grins; it was sharp and easy to
handle.
