The BENCHMADE MINI GRIPTILIAN 556 has a 2.9" modified drop point blade made of satin finished 440C stainless steel. 440C is a high-chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of good hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. 440C takes a nice edge and comes back fairly easy as well. An excellent value priced steel for its performance. Additionally, Benchmade has developed a process for heat-treating their blade steels which maximizes the steels' molecular structure for a custom toughness and superior performance. This plain edge blade sports an ambidextrous thumb stud for easy one-handed opening.
The Mini Griptilian has a light-weight molded black molded Noryl GTX handle with texturing for a sure grip and has a reversible clip for easy, secure carry.
The Mini Griptilian also sports the Benchmade patented AXIS™ locking mechanism. The incredibly strong AXIS lock is completely ambidextrous and incredibly smooth. We have hands-on tested the opening and closing of the Benchmade Griptilians. They are indeed smooth, safe and everything they are advertised to be.
